Shields vs Hendo is Official

It’s been assumed for a while that this fight was a done deal but now it’s official.  Jake Shields will fight Dan Henderson.  They have agreed to fight (most likely in Strikeforce’s April bout) Shields confirmed Tuesday while on MMA Weekly’s radio show.   This is the same fight card with Fedor vs Werdum and potentially Mousasi vs King Mo.  This makes the April 17 Strikeforce card one hell of a card for a live prime time CBS event.

“It’s a go now. We finally worked it out a few days ago,” he said about the fight with Henderson. “It’s a done deal, it’s been agreed upon by both parties as far as I know, and I think it’s set to go.”

Jake Shields defending his title comes into this fight as the underdog after his last performance and considering that Dan Henderson is who he is, it makes sense.  Jake didn’t seem to mind being the underog for the fight though.

“I always prefer to be the underdog. Dan’s a great fighter, he doesn’t have a lot of holes in his game, but I think he does have a few, and I’m going to go out there and try to exploit them,” stated Shields.

As far as we can see the Fedor vs Werdum fight is still on for this card but according to MMA Weekly’s post it shows some uncertainty of this fight at this point.  Mousasi vs King Mo isn’t an inked deal as of yet but King Mo is more than ready to go.  If all of these fights get on the same card and air on CBS, it could prove to be a HUGE success for Strikeforce and CBS with such a nice card for national TV.

The Diaz brothers are such punks! Did you see that tired ass act last night…that shit last night is a slap in the face of the true fighters of the great SPORT of MMA! This is the reason why Nick doesn’t fight in the UFC any more. MMA has come a long way and mainstream fans are finally accepting it as a true sport and the two street punks from Stockton should remember that when they cash their checks!
