Have you had enough of Brock Lesnar? I hope not because this albino gorilla…. er UFC Champion has landed himself the cover of the 2010 UFC Undisputed video game. UFC Undisputed from THQ made its anticipated entry into the MMA video game market place spring of last year and was a huge improvement from previous MMA video games.
Unchallenged last year, they reigned supreme and took home the award at the 2009 VGA for Best Individual Sports Game. With EA Sports coming into the picture and looking to tap into the MMA market, THQ doesn’t seem too worried about it. But why would you be worried if you were THQ? You have Dana backing you and going against the EA development. I would have loved to see Dana’s face when he found out that Randy was helping EA with their version of the game.
But I digress… not long after Brock has his interview explaining why he was sidelined and forced to back out of his fight, he gets named as the cover of the 2010 edition of the UFC Undisputed video game. Will 2010 outsell 2009’s 3.5 million units? It doesn’t seem likely. Games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2 and other releases may outshine the release date of 2010 UFC Undisputed.
What’s new in 2010 UFC Undisputed?
As for UFC Undisputed 2010, the game will feature more than 100 league fighters, as well as commentary from ringside staples Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg. THQ has also introduced a new sway and posture system to enhance a player’s ability to defend and deliver coups-de-grace attacks, as well as incorporated new moves from the sambo, karate, and Greco-Roman wrestling disciplines.
I will probably GameFly this game at first as I played the hell out of 2009 but was fastly burnt out after a couple weeks of play.
